Sports and fitness are crucial in promoting the overall development of young learners by instilling qualities such as determination, teamwork, and resilience. Through physical activities, children learn perseverance, experience the excitement of competition, and appreciate the importance of fair play—essential life skills that shape their character and prepare them for future challenges. In line with these values, the Foundational Stage Grades enthusiastically celebrated National Sports Day on 3rd September.
The festivities commenced with a joyful choir performance by Grades FS I-III, followed by a calming yoga session by FS II and FS III learners, showcasing their balance and mental focus. A vibrant Taekwondo display highlighted their martial arts skills, while a lively Zumba session encouraged unity and enjoyment. The excitement continued with a series of engaging races and games: FS I learners participated in Zig Zag Running and Bean Bag activities; FS II learners excelled in balance challenges; and FS III learners took on Frog Cross the Pond and Bean Bag Balancing, demonstrating their agility and competitive spirit.
The celebration highlighted the significance of sports in a well-rounded education, reinforcing the role of physical activity in building confidence, fostering teamwork, and nurturing a healthy competitive spirit.
