Grade VIII Explores the Fascinating World of Photography at The Museo Camera! From July 12 th to 18 th’ 24,our Grade VIII learners had an enriching educational trip to The Museo Camera, where they explored the captivating history of photography and contemporary practices in the field. This museum, renowned for its extensive collection, provided a unique opportunity for our students to delve into the evolution of photographic technology. The Museo Camera boasts a collection of over 2500 antique cameras from more than 100 countries, including the tiniest camera on earth and the oldest, dating back to the 1870s. Our learners were thrilled to see a dazzling array of photographic equipment, the earliest flash equipment, photographic films, lenses, enlargers, and light meters.
As they explored the variety of cameras used in the past, the learners engaged with the museum's interactive activity sheet, unfolding answers and deepening their understanding of the historical significance and technological advancements of photography.
The excitement was palpable as our Grade VIII students witnessed the transformation of cameras over time and appreciated the uniqueness and purposefulness delivered by these remarkable devices. Exploring the museum's fascinating collection has provided the learners of LVISG with a unique perspective on the history of photography, making this visit an unforgettable part of their educational journey.
