The ATL-Tinkerfest 2024, held at Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram, on December 24, 2024, was an incredible showcase of scientific ingenuity and collaboration. The event, organized with great enthusiasm and meticulous planning, provided a platform for students from Grades VI to XII to present their innovative projects. Parents, students, and guests were welcomed into an environment brimming with creativity and exploration.
The day began with an exhilarating inauguration by our esteemed Director Principal, Mrs. Anita Malhotra. Ma’am officially declared the fest “OPEN” by activating a sensor-powered box, created in our own ATL -Lab, that lit up the venue, symbolizing the spark of innovation. This unique opening gesture set an electrifying tone, filling the air with excitement and anticipation. Ma’am congratulated the learners who displayed the award winning projects from CBSE Science Exhibition, ’Senior Safeguard Plus’ and project ‘Agrovision’ from the prestigious Inspire Manak Award among others. Adding to the thrill, Principal ma’am piloted a drone in the school assembly area with the learners who skilfully landed it on a helipad designed by Aadveek Bhatia and Vihan Arora, from Grade VIII Congo.
In her address, Director -Principal Ma’am inspired the learners, emphasizing the importance of creative thinking, innovation, and collaboration. She thanked the parents for their support and encouraged the learners to explore new horizons of knowledge and innovation, underscoring the need for teamwork and persistent effort in scientific endeavours. Her words resonated deeply with students, teachers, and parents, setting the stage for a truly memorable day.
Event Highlights:
The exhibition featured over 90 innovative projects from Grades VI to XII, showcasing the students' ability to apply scientific principles to solve real-world problems. From robotics to environmental conservation, the exhibits highlighted diverse interests and exceptional creativity. Notable projects included the Animal Safety Car, Waste segregator, Road safety system, EV Charging Station, Medi Wheels, Agrobot, Hydroponics, Automatic-Irrigation System and many others. Each exhibit reflected the learners’ problem-solving mindset, dedication, and ability to bring their thoughts to life. Visiting parents and attendees were particularly impressed by the practical applications and unique solutions presented by the young innovators.
A highlight of the event was the active interaction between learners and guests. Students from various grades and people from the community eagerly engaged with the learners’ presenting projects, asking insightful questions and sharing feedback. Presenters confidently explained the concepts behind their projects and the processes involved in their creation. The atmosphere buzzed with curiosity as learners shared knowledge and ideas, creating a collaborative and enriching experience for all participants.
This year the LVIS-ATL Tinkerfest 24 went beyond traditional exhibitions by offering hands-on activities and challenges for visitors. Interactive projects and activities helped ignite a spark of curiosity among young learners visiting the projects and provide practical exposure to scientific concepts.
Parents played an active role by interacting with the young innovators, offering valuable feedback, and encouraging their efforts. Their presence and appreciation boosted the confidence of the participants, emphasizing the importance of a supportive environment between school and parents, in nurturing talent. The involvement of families added warmth and inclusivity to the fest, making it a memorable occasion for everyone.
