“A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and in the soul of its people”-Mahatma Gandhi
Teaching about the nation's heritage instils a deep sense of pride and cultural belonging in young minds. At Lotus Valley International School, learners of Grades I- III beautifully showcased this through the Incredible India event from 4th to 6th August, where each classroom was transformed into a vibrant display of India’s diverse states. Under the able mentorship of our Director-Principal, Ms. Anita Malhotra, the event unfolded with enthusiasm and creativity. The opening ceremony set the tone with a warm welcome by our young tourist guides, a melodious choir incorporating regional languages, traditional Rajasthani puppetry, energetic dance performances and a captivating walk-through of famous Indian personalities. As we progressed through the beautifully adorned corridors, we witnessed the colours and essence of different states come alive through vibrant displays. Grade I highlighted the rich traditions of Southern India, while Grade II presented the cultural vibrancy of Western, Central and Eastern regions. Grade III explored the heritage of Northern and North-Eastern states. Dressed in traditional attire, learners confidently shared information about each state’s festivals, cuisine, historical landmarks and notable personalities. Their detailed research and artistic presentations reflected both academic growth and cultural awareness. The event not only celebrated India’s diversity but also left parents delighted, as they departed with state-themed tokens and cherished memories of this enriching experience.
