"When we empower teachers, we empower generations."
With a deep sense of commitment to social responsibility and dedication towards the larger good, Lotus Valley International School, Gurugram, conducted a teacher-training workshop on Saturday, 27th September 2025 for educators from the R.N. Malhotra and Anna R. Malhotra Charitable Trust, led by Ms. Divya Malik Lahiri. Under the esteemed mentorship of Director-Principal Ms. Anita Malhotra, the session focused primarily on Language Essentials and Gender Sensitization.
In the first segment of the workshop, facilitated by Academic Supervisor Ms. Nilisha Chhabra, Ms. Charu Bhambri and Ms. Tripti Awasthi, the teachers revisited Subject-Verb Agreement with additional rules and exceptions, explored the Forms of Verbs, and practiced the pronunciation of commonly mispronounced words in an interactive way. The aim was to enhance the teachers’ linguistic skills and empower them to communicate in English with clarity, confidence, and grammatical accuracy.
The second segment, conducted by school counsellors Dr. Sangeeta Goyal and Ms. Swati Sharma, addressed Gender Sensitization. Using experiential activities such as the Story of the Origin of Stereotypes, Power Walk, and role plays, the session encouraged teachers to reflect on subtle yet deep-rooted gender stereotypes in society. Practical strategies were also shared to help the educators nurture mutual respect, inclusivity, and fairness within their schools.
The workshop concluded on a resolute note, reaffirming the school’s belief that empowering teachers enables them to positively impact the lives of many, both within and beyond the classroom.
