"The Earth does not belong to us. We belong to the Earth."
Earth Day, observed globally on 22nd April each year, is a vital event that promotes awareness towards environment and encourages actions to conserve our planet. At Lotus Valley, we celebrated this day by engaging learners in a series of educational and interactive activities designed to instil a deep sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship. Learners of Grade FS I explored the significance of Earth Day through balloon-printed representations of Earth, while Grade FS II learners took a pledge to conserve water, reduce waste and use electricity wisely. Grade FS III learners expressed their commitment to the planet by crafting illustrations advocating reduction of plastic use and recycling. In Grade I, mentors encouraged learners to share their ideas on environmental conservation through activities like ‘Illustrate Your Thoughts’. Grade II learners created and decorated seed bombs, demonstrating their commitment to a greener future. Grade III learners composed catchy jingles to affirm their commitment to conservation. It was a day filled with discussions, art and hands-on projects, leaving our learners inspired to take practical steps protecting our planet throughout the year.
