Nurturing Bonds, Building Futures
Family is the heart of our home, the foundation of our happiness, and the source of our greatest strength.
Families are both our roots and our wings, giving us the strength to soar while grounding us in our values and identity. International Day of Families, observed annually on 15th May, celebrates the relationships that form the foundation of our lives, weaving together love, support and understanding.
At Lotus Valley, the celebration was a vibrant mix of activities highlighting the significance of family bonds and unity across all grade levels. FS I learners engaged in activities like 'My Family, My Roots' and creating greeting cards, emphasizing the importance of love, help and respect within the family.
Likewise, FS II learners participated in 'Family - My Building Blocks,' using large wooden blocks to symbolize family members and creating artistic family towers representing strength and unity. FS III learners explored familial relationships through creative poster-making and expressive extempore sessions under the theme 'Family First.' They also enjoyed dancing to a family song, celebrating togetherness.
Grade I learners showcased their understanding of family solidarity through a poster-making activity themed 'Forever Together,' with vibrant illustrations depicting the essence of family bonds and love. Grade II learners explored similarities and differences with a chosen family member through Venn diagrams, fostering self-awareness and strengthening relationships. Grade III learners celebrated family bonds with acrostic poems, expressing love, creativity and appreciation for their families.
The International Day of Families celebration reaffirmed the family as the bedrock of society. It was a day of reflection and gratitude, reminding everyone of the importance of cherishing and nurturing family ties.
